Heart Project

Wow, it has been a while since I posted. But I have to say that the past few weeks I've been super busy planning my motorcycle trip. I have neglected my photography projects and learning.

But I do have another sample of a Photoshop project I've been working on for class. The assignment is to create an illustration of a part of the anatomy. I picked the heart.. thinking it would be interesting, and I would show a healthy heart and a heart with a Mitral Valve Prolapse condition. Here is a start to my main illustration of the heart. I'm starting to like it but I am removing the "veins" part, they just look too... well... just wrong.

Learning 3D in Photoshop

I'm taking my 2nd class at Seton Hall U. this semester. It is "Digital Art and Design". Our professor just left on maternity leave, I'll miss her the class was fun. And I wish her all my best. I met our new professor yesterday in class and he's already pushing me. This is a good thing. He really seems to know the programs and wants us to push hard in to learning more then just "burn and doge". Our first project is to make a poster on a part of the body. Something you would see in the Dr.'s office waiting room. This sounded fun at first. Then sounded way to involved. Then after a few hours of thinking about it, I came around. This could be fun. And it is going to be VERY challenging. I like that. I need to be pushed or I'll just float along.

Here are my first tries at creating a 3D effect.

N95 - Nokia Vine

I just DLed this fun new application on to my Nokia N95 cell phone. "Nokia Vine" This app. will follow you around and record your GPS position and any photos or videos you take along your "vine" or rout.

This link doesn't seem to work for every one, but here it is. I know it does take a bit to actually load up so give it a second.

If they map view opens out really wide, just look for the vine made by "mustanggirl1975" (here is a screen shot I took of the map) Each one of those green "tags" or leaves on the vine are photos I took along my drive. On the web page you can click on them and the photo I took at that location pops up. Also, the Vine program may not load until you pick "international" and then "English".

Leave me any comments, questions, anything about this, I'm learning about it too!

In-Camera Editing - N95

I just made a short video with my camera phone (N95). The video is a "in-camera editing" type video. It came out OK. But it has some problems. I will try to make the next one is slightly less jumpy. But.... I do feel this sort of in-camera editing (on this phone) is kind of choppy and it produces a lot of lag time between clips. Either that or I have just not mastered the "quick take"

I do have to admit that my favorite parts of the video are... the person walking through the room and the "Click-click" of the "pause" button. :-D
