Birthday Girl

Last Saturday I went to a Birthday Party, a "Black & White" party. We all had to wear masks when the Birthday Girl arrived. I don't "do" masks... but thankfully I had my camera and I was taking photos... so I got out of it. But I do have to say, the Bday girl had some cool masks to wear!

Here is the sweetest little face around... well he'll only be in town for a few days, but then he'll be the sweetest little face in CA. I love LOVE love this photograph, his little expression is soooo sweet and natural. But I felt it needed a little tweaking. Here are a few edits I tried. I really don't know which one is my favorite. I hope you like them!

Christmas Shoot

Here is a wonderful little model... every time I see her she is all set to pose for the camera. I think I captured her well this time. Last year I blinded her with my hot studio lights.... this year I had a much MUCH smaller set up... Zip Bam Boom, we set up, snapped up a bunch of shots, and we were done.... And I absolutely LOVE how they came out... I hope they do too.

I hope this post is counted, I think I messed up on my first try. But here it is anyway. A friend of mine mentioned the "I Heart Faces" photo challenge to me the other day, and suggested I enter this photo. I think it fits in just perfectly.

Here is the sweetest little boy of my friends Micah and Cory. We went pumpkin picking and grabbed a few shots. What sweet heart he was... I think he wanted to take home all the pumpkins that were bigger then he was !

Hand-held portraits n' stuff

Last night I was at a friends house playing cards when it dawned on me that I need to start taking more pictures of people. So I started snapping away. Half in color and half in B&W. Here are a few of the color ones. I'll try to post up the B&W ones soon. The lighting conditions were very low lit, we only had one lamp and one rather large TV in the back ground. I had my camera set to f1.4, auto shutter and I believe "incandescent" white balance, and the ISO was at 200 to avoid as much grain as possible. This, besides the fact that I like them, makes them very blurry, out of focus... if you will...


I love hand-held Portraits of myself. As long as the camera is up high.


I believe someone made me laugh.... either that or the last shot made me laugh at myself :-D

I played with the color on this one a bit, I believe the original had the wrong white balance set, so it had a blue tint to begin with.
